Inspired by programs that cover the entire Bible in a year, Glenn Morris will lead a new adult class that will read the entire Bible — but at a slower pace to allow for deeper coverage and more discussion. The class will meet from noon to 1 PM on Thursdays beginning May 14th. Class members will be invited to bring a brown bag lunch and to eat during class.
The new class will use YouTube videos from sources such as the Bible Project, Enter the Bible, and Useful Charts to preview the books about to be covered and to offer mainstream academic scholarship on the history, authorship, and main theological points of each book. No advance viewing of the videos will be needed. They will be shown during class, with time left for discussion. Class members will be asked only to read before class the assigned parts of the Bible itself. And nothing is assigned for the first couple of classes, which will offer an introduction to the Old Testament. For more information email Glenn at glenngmo5@gmail.com.
